Boulder Police Investigating Two Incidents Involving Man with a Machete

The Boulder Police Department is asking for the public’s help to find a man who brandished a machete during two separate incidents in the city this week.

The first occurred Monday, Feb. 22, at approximately 9:45 p.m. in the 1500 block of Spruce Street. The victim walked outside of his residence and discovered a man in his bushes. During the incident, the man pulled a machete out of his backpack and threatened the victim before walking away.

Today at approximately 4:50 p.m. in the 2100 block of Grove Circle, the victims caught a man burglarizing their house. The man started to pull a machete out of his backpack and threatened the victims before riding away on a bicycle.

In both incidents, the suspect is described as a white male in his 30s with a short, balding buzz cut and a black beard that’s about an inch long. He smelled like smoke, is 5'10'' to 5’11” feet tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black hat, black face mask, black ski coat, dark colored pants and a black backpack.
