IThe Boulder Police Department will be posting in reference to the incoming winter storm for Wednesday, March 13th.  Please check back for updates.  The impending weather may cause electric outages in some areas.  If you lose power at your residence/business, please click here for details on reporting your outage to Xcel Energy. 

Tuesday @ 10:45PM: Light rain has begun in Boulder

Wednesday @ 12:07AM: Light rain continues to fall in Boulder. 

Wednesday @ 3:52AM: Roads are wet from the light rain over the evening but temperatures remain in the low 40's and there is no current impact on traffic.

Wednesday @ 5:48AM: Roads remain wet but with temperatures still in the 40s, there should be minimal impact on road conditions and morning commute times.  Per the National Weather Service there is a Winter Storm Warning in effect from 10:00AM this morning to midnight tonight.  There is an expected snow accumulation of 4 to 10 inches expected with wind gusts as high as 55MPH.  The mix of falling snow and high winds will create areas of significantly reduced visibility, drastically affecting the afternoon/evening commute.

Wednesday @ 7:24AM: Heavy rain beginning to fall in Boulder with cloudy/overcast conditions. Standing water on some side streets.  Temperatures falling now into the 30s.

Wednesday @ 10:02AM: The rain has turned to snow and the City’s 17 snow trucks are already deployed on the streets.  The City of Boulder has announced that all city offices, library branches & recreation centers will all be closing at noon  

Wednesday @ 12:48PM: Snow continues to fall and and road conditions are worsening.  Members of the Boulder Police Department are out on Denver bound HWY 36 investigating a motor vehicle accident.  Please slow down and get to your destination safely.

Wednesday @ 1:03PM: Boulder is experiencing rolling blackouts as Xcel Energy battles the storm. This is effecting residences, businesses and traffic signals.  Reminder to treat all out signals as a 4-way stop. #DriveSafe
