Boulder Police Make Quick Arrest in Suspected Homicide

The Boulder Police Department has arrested an adult male in connection to a suspected homicide that occurred in the city last night.

At approximately 9 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 14, officers responded to the 900 block of East Moorhead Circle for a report of an adult male not breathing. When officers arrived on scene, they found an unconscious male with suspicious wounds. They administered medical aid before he was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. The Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death as well as release the victim’s identity once next of kin has been notified.

Robert Hicks, 30, of Boulder, was arrested at the scene and taken to the hospital to be medically cleared. In consultation with the D.A.’s Office, Hicks will be charged with first degree murder. His booking photo can be obtained from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office once it’s available.

The two men were known to each other, and this investigation remains ongoing.
